Overview
We are currently recruiting an Electrical Shift Engineer for a large, well-established manufacturer based within Port Talbot, South Wales. The company have an extensive customer base, supplying various companies throughout the UK. The role is a shift based position working a 3-2-2 continental shift pattern of days and nights. You can expect to achieve salary of £36,500.
The Role
The company are looking to hire an employee who has a long-term view as they are proud to say that 80% of the existing employees in the company have been working with them for over 15 years.
Duties will include:
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
- Responding to breakdowns quickly and efficiently
- Diagnosing faults and repair equipment
- Upkeep of reports and records
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
You will have:
- Hands on approach
- Self-motivating
- Ability to manage workload
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Good timekeeping
- Be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Computer literacy
The Person
- HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable)
- 5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A-C grade which will include English, Mathematics and Science. (essential)
- Time served electrical apprenticeship. (essential)
- Counterbalance forklift licence. (advantageous – not essential)
- Experience in FMCG
- Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace. (desirable)
- PLC experience (Siemens preferable)
- Previous experience reacting to electrical breakdowns
